We are in the middle of Ginseng Season. It’s an excellent time to think about land management and resource sustainability.
The line between environmentalism and agriculture is blurring, and that’s a good thing. Cattle farmers are beginning to realize that cows will graze native grasses. Coupled with cool-season fields, native grasses provide alternative foraging opportunities. Native grasses also are home to all sorts of swiftly disappearing species.
